There are a few ‘rules’ you should observe before setting off into the mountains:
- Check the weather forecast, as the weather changes very quickly in the mountains.
- Have a good breakfast and take a small snack with you.
- The sun in the mountains is very strong, so remember to regularly apply high factor sun cream.
- Drink plenty of fluids to keep well hydrated.
- Respect other skiers on the slopes
- Keep warm with several layers of clothing.
- Make sure you’re properly equipped for skiing! Snow boots, warm clothing, gloves, goggles and ski helmets are compulsory
The mountains are a fragile place. Never throw your rubbish out in the open and remember to sort it.
Containers are available throughout the commune for this purpose!
When out walking, keep your dog on a lead: it could disturb or chase wild animals.
Eco-gestures: protect nature!
To ensure that Saint François Longchamp remains a protected natural area, do what we’re doing and help protect the environment! The Saint François Longchamp resort is committed to sustainable development and has been awarded the Flocon Vert label!
- Transport: for journeys within the resort, use a bike or walk whenever possible.
- Heating: before I go skiing, I turn down the heating. If I’m cold, I add a jumper and in the evening, I close the curtains and shutters to keep the heat in.
- Water consumption: in winter in the mountains, rivers reach their lowest levels, so watch out for wastage!
- Noise pollution: for everyone’s well-being, let’s control our noise emissions from 10pm onwards.
