Saint François Longchamp awarded the Flocon Vert label
Saint François Longchamp became the 12th destination to obtain the Flocon Vert label (the 3rd in Savoie). Its application was led by a dynamic municipal team and committed local stakeholders. Flocon Vert is an initiative that guarantees the sustainable commitment of mountain destinations to environmental and social issues.
CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT
Saint François Longchamp is a destination that has taken the time to include a wide range of perspectives in its transition project. Considerable effort has been devoted to setting up working committees across the various areas of the transition. Technical experts, elected officials, business leaders, associations, economic stakeholders, as well as local residents and citizens regularly come together to co-create the solutions of tomorrow.
A FOUR-SEASON PARADISE
With rapidly expanding mountain biking activities, renewed hiking trails, fun leisure areas, and dedicated spaces for wellness experiences, Saint François Longchamp is focusing on diversifying its tourism offering.
Through the development of remote working facilities, the destination also aims to attract new audiences and enhance its year-round appeal for remote workers, as well as for their families.
A “Family-Friendly” Destination
The destination has been awarded the Famille + label, guaranteeing that a wide range of services, facilities, and amenities are specifically designed to welcome families, whether for short stays or year-round living.
Children’s House, the “Little Mountaineers’ Corner” indoor play area, picnic rooms, reading corners, small-scale activities and major festivals adapted to all ages — everything is designed so families can fully enjoy their stay.
ENERGY AND MOBILITY: TWO KEY FACTORS
Saint François Longchamp is fortunate to have a local watercourse with a sufficient flow rate to enable the municipality to generate electricity through a micro hydroelectric power plant.
Mobility is also a major challenge, accounting on average for 57% of a resort’s total emissions. Saint François Longchamp is rising to this challenge with the Tictactrip app, which makes it easy to promote intermodal travel to and within the destination (high-speed train + shuttle bus, for example).

A COMMITTED SKI AREA
Eco-responsible grooming: 100% of Saint François Longchamp employees are trained in eco-driving, and we have also reduced the width of ski runs outside school holiday periods. These measures have led to a 20% reduction in fuel consumption.
Protecting our biodiversity: 2,300 hectares of the ski area have been revegetated using endemic seed varieties. Black grouse protection zones have been clearly marked across the ski area to raise awareness among skiers and snowboarders about the potential impact of their presence on this sensitive species.
