Association pour la préservation du patrimoine architectural de Montaimont
Saint François LongchampThe Association for the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage of Montaimont works to help the Municipality to preserve, restore and enhance its very rich heritage: Baroque chapels, bread ovens, mills, etc.
The association operates thanks to funds raised during the organization of traditional events:
-Feast of Saint-Antoine in the hamlet of La Perrière in mid-January.
- Feast of the Alpine pastures at the Sainte-Marguerite chapel on the first Sunday of August.
-Visits to the chapel of Beaurevers and the parish church, as part of the FACIM, on Fridays in July and August from 4 to 6 p.m. (free)
-Visits of the village which highlight the heritage, know-how and life in Montaimont (free).
These visits can be made on request for groups, depending on the availability of volunteers from the association.
The members of the Association also try to maintain and renovate the elements of the traditional costume, in compliance with the “Maurienne Costume Charter”, and to enhance it whenever the opportunity arises, especially on the day of L'Assomption (August 15) or during the Maurienne Costumes Gathering organized every 3 years in a different canton.
